The Binfield Club is located in the picturesque village of Binfield, a civil parish in Berkshire, England. Nestled 2 miles (3.2 km) northwest of Bracknell, 3 miles (4.8 km) northeast of Wokingham, and 8 miles (13 km) southeast of Reading, the village has a rich history. It has been home to famous poets, nobility, and, more recently, the Sultan of Brunei. Once known for its thriving brick and tile industry, Binfield is now a vibrant community of family homes and local businesses, including The Binfield Club.
Situated at the crossroads of Terrace Road and Forest Road, the club was established in 1889 as a library for working men. It soon evolved to include a small clubroom, a committee room, and stewards’ living quarters. Over the years, the club expanded with a larger clubroom, a new games room, and enhanced bar facilities.
In 1918, members and trustees purchased the club’s freehold, further upgrading its facilities. Throughout the 1920s and World War II, the club became a cornerstone of the community, serving as a post for the Air Raid Precautions division and supporting local sports such as cricket, football, darts, billiards, and tabletop games.
Today, The Binfield Club boasts a large function room with a spacious dance floor and bar, a smaller function room, a full-size snooker room, two professional pool tables, and a committee room. It is also equipped with a fully operational kitchen and a barista-style coffee bar.
The club offers regular raffles, quizzes with cash prizes, and a packed social calendar. It serves as a hub for various groups, clubs, and organizations, providing top-tier facilities for all.
Please feel free to visit during normal business hours.
